This annual conference – presented by Center for Schools and Communities, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Education – is only open to 21st Century Community Learning Centers’ grantees.
Cohort 7&8 Grantees
For future reference, two representatives, one being the program director, must attend the pre-conference institute in the afternoon and then attend the remainder of the two-day conference. The mandatory grantees’ training is held in the morning and both attendees must stay for the entire training program.
2017 ELO Conference Overview
The conference focused on advancing systems that support and promote collaboration and youth success and on key elements of high quality extra learning opportunities: academic achievement; child well-being and resiliency; community and family involvement; program management – policy, financing, leadership/administration, staffing and training; global learning; and research and evaluation.
These key elements provided the backdrop for participants to learn about the development, implementation and sustainability of a vision of learning that is shared and supported by schools, youth, parents and the community at-large.
Individuals who work on behalf of children and youth in a current 21st Century Community Learning Center, including administrators, grant writers, evaluators, program directors, coordinators and staff, found the workshops further enhanced their skills and knowledge.
